SBS Virtual Christmas Do
I'm fundraising for a great cause!
This winter, food banks are expecting to give out an emergency parcel every 9 seconds. This can’t go on.
More than 1.2 million emergency food parcels were given to people struggling to afford essentials by food banks in the Trussell Trust’s UK-wide network between 1st April and 30th September 2020, making it the busiest ever half-year period for food banks; over 470,000 of these parcels went to children.
670,000 more people in the UK are at risk of being pushed into destitution this winter – unable to afford the basics in life. We don’t have to live with this.
I’m raising money for the Trussell Trust by switching my usual party to a virtual one and donating the money I would have spent to people who need it most.
This year we’ve already made incredible changes to the way we live, work and look after each other. And if we take action together now, we can start to build a future where we can all afford the essentials. That’s why I’m supporting the Trussell Trust’s work to help people in crisis and build a Hunger Free Future, while having fun at my virtual get-together!
